The life and adventures of Alexander Charles Keefe began on October 26, 1939. Born to Alexander Jerome and Charlene Agnes Keefe in Detroit, Michigan, Al was blessed with a loving sister, Patricia Ann Kipley (John) 4 years later. After a rambunctious childhood, he found himself at Onarga Military Academy in Illinois which started his life of travel.
His next destination was Germany as a proud member of the United States Army. After an honorable discharge, his travels brought him back to Michigan where he began his airline career with North Central Airlines / Flying Tigers. It was this part of the adventure that he met the love of his life Kathie Jeanne Wilson. The early 1960's brought him his first two daughters the late Deborah Lynn Lazarin (daughter Sarah) and Kathleen Mary Gray (sons Conner - Corey ).
The mid 1960's took the family to California where they were blessed with two more children Patricia Susan Steelman (sons Blake - Davis - Chase ) and Alexander Forrest Keefe (sons Alexander - Christopher ). Fortunes changed in 1970's when he accepted a position with Americian Airlines which eventually led them to Colleyville, Texas.
Throughout his life, Al had a love and extensive knowledge of automobiles with a passion for restoring Ford Mustangs.
After a long and sucessful 26 year career, Al hung up his tie and began the next chapter in his life with lots of travel and leisure. Having numerous destinations in mind, Al made his wife very happy with their purchase of the cabin in South Fork, Colorado in the early 2000's. It was definitely his happy place as he was at peace in the mountains. Spending time with family was important to him which included many memorable cruises and trips to the Carribean. A highlight of his travel was visiting Ireland and kissing the Blarney Stone just this past September!
From coast to coast and border to border Al met life long friends everywhere he went. They not only changed his life but he changed theirs forever as well.
Al is also survived by his daughter-in-law Sandra Lilana Keefe, son-in-law Michael John Gray, great-granddaughter, Emery Lynn, and numerous loving family members and close friends.
As he and our family believes, his final adventure ends with our Lord Jesus Christ.
