

Alton McCoy Vickers age 86, died on January 14th, 2015 at Irving Baylor Hospital after a long battle with his health over many years. Left this world peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He joined his Father Hiram M Vickers Sr, Mother Ottis Wilson, Two Brothers Hiram M Vickers Jr and His Wife Ivy Byrne, James H Vickers Sr. and his wife Ethelrida Marsh, Sister Sara V Findley and her Husband William D Findley Sr, He grew up in Selma, Alabama the son of Hiram M Vickers Sr and Ottis Wilson Vickers and Six Siblings including five Brothers Herbert C Vickers Sr. and his wife Louise Pearson, Lawrence D Vickers and his Wife Bonnie Gray, Hiram M Vickers Jr and His Wife Ivy Byrne, James H Vickers Sr. and his wife Ethelrida Marsh, Sister Sara V Findley and her Husband William D Findley Sr, Mr. Alton Vickers is survived by his beloved wife, Leberta Vickers, His Adored Two children: Victoria L Vickers Saint John, Mark W Vickers and his Wife Randy Vickers. Also leaving behind his adored four grandchildren, Jennifer M Vickers DeGraw, Kevin W Vickers and his Wife Shannon Vickers, Catherine E Vickers, and Jonathan D Vickers. His adored Seven Great Grandchildren: Christopher DeGraw, Logan Vickers, Connor DeGraw, Landyn Vickers, Brylen Vickers, Zackery Watson Brooklynn Currie, and other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many friends. Alton never met a stranger and was known for helping anyone he came in contact with. He was very close to his family and his Beloved dog "Misty" were Best Buddies As a child he grew up working in the Cotton Fields with his dad and Brothers. As he grew older, Alton Joined the Military in 1943 where he began his Carrier in ballistic Missile Commands. Alton is a veteran of World War II, and Korean War, Vietnam War. Where he earned several medals. He served Twenty two years with distinction as a Chief Master Sargent E9 for the Air force. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Air Force never left him, as friends and family will attest. Upon retiring from the Air force, from Vandenberg air force base in California he then promptly moved to Euless, Texas. He began to find interest in many hobbies including: Bowling, Hunting, Fishing, Working on Cars, Square Dancing, Jewelry making, Carpentry, Working in the yard. His Love for his family was unlike any other. Alton will be dearly missed and was an inspiration to all who knew him. Always in our Memories and forever in our Hearts.
