Alvin was born January 22, 1935 in Irene, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of Tarrant County--the majority of that time in the city of Hurst.
Alvin met his wife, Barbara when they were teenagers, who both worked at Burger's Lake (Barbara in the concession stand and Alvin as a lifeguard). Barbara at first sight knew that he would one day be her husband. For the past 65 years, Alvin was the most loving husband, the most understanding father, and the most wonderful "Da" to his sweet grandson.
Alvin was a people-person. That is to say he collected lifelong friends over the years--many since grade-school. He worked at TXU/Oncor for 38 years. He enjoyed working in Human Resources (Associate Benefits) where he helped all of his fellow employees through the retirement process. He had a job he loved and suited his desire to help people. During his working years, Alvin was honored to serve in the United States Navy reserve for eight years.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents and his brother. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his daughter Vicki and son-in-law Lee, grandson Dillon and fiancée Sara.
