Mrs. Anne W. Haines

Anne Worthington Haines, age 78, passed away peacefully January 26, 2022, after a 3-week battle with Covid Pneumonia. She was born October 21, 1943 in Cuidad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Richard and Patricia Hummer.

Anne had a huge heart for people, and she treated everyone like family. She always saw the very best in people and her hugs were legendary. Loving and accepting others was truly her super power.

For many years Anne worked at Dow Chemical in Midland, MI. She managed the workers comp department which perfectly suited her analytical thinking and desire to help people. In addition to working at Dow, Anne also chaired the board of Habitat for Humanity in Midland. The years volunteering with Habitat were some of her fondest memories.

Anne also loved her volunteer work with the Chippewa Nature Center where she served on the board for many years. While Anne was a member of Zonta she worked on many projects focused on empowering young business women in the Midland, MI community.

Anne’s faith was a guiding light in her life. She attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Midland, MI where she was part of the Christ Renews program, as well as active in a Small Faith Group for many years.

Anne recently moved to Texas to be closer to family, and especially her great grandchildren whom she treasured spending time with. Even though she was in Texas less than a year, she made so many dear friends at the Heartis community where she enjoyed playing bridge and working on creative projects.

Anne is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Dave Schroeder, her three sons and daughters-in-law Patrick Haines and Stefani Krenz, Christopher and Julie Haines, and Mark and Angela Haines. Her crowning joy was her ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a dear niece and nephew, and many beloved cousins.

In Texas, you are invited to join the family on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the home of Kathy and Dave Schroeder in Euless. There will also be a celebration for Anne at the Heartis community in Bedford.

In Michigan, a Memorial Service will be held at Blessed Sacrament in Midland on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 11:00 am. The service with be followed by a luncheon with Anne’s family and many friends.
