Annette Shaw (81) of Hurst, Texas, lovingly known to everyone as Nanny, parted this life on October 31, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She lived a life overflowing with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Nanny was born January 4, 1944, in Texarkana, Texas to Billie and James Bohon, and was a lover of all things—especially camping, fishing, and, most of all, spending time with her family. Whether it was a trip to Walmart or Sam’s, or a family vacation, she was always ready for the next adventure. Her happiest moments were when her whole family was together.
Her favorite holiday was Christmas, when her home was filled to the brim with food, family, and plenty of loud laughter.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years (soon to be 66 in January), Chesley Shaw; her three children, Chris Shaw (wife Dana), Carla Vance (husband Marty), and Tony Shaw (wife Stephanie); seven grandchildren, Misty Paris(husband Bram), Tiffany Cox(husband Justin), Wesley Shaw(wife Meagan), David Vance, Justin Shaw(wife Courtney), Halli Norwood, and Brittany Shaw; twelve great-grandchildren, Parker(wife Paige), Derek, Macaela, Chyanne, Ransom, Kaleb, Paxton, Emilee, Addy, Kymberlynn, and Paisley; and two great-great-grandchildren, Grayson and Paislynn. Two sisters Sharion Smith and Marion Sartin of Texarkana, Texas. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends who loved her deeply.
Nanny’s legacy of love, laughter, and togetherness will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
