Obituary of Barbara Gail Bawolak
Barbara Gail (nee Peoples) Bawolak, 78, of Euless, Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, September 22, 2022, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Terrance J. Bawolak, with whom she shared 30 years of marriage. Born in West Chester, Pennsylvania, Barb was the loving daughter of the late Joseph Ronald Peoples and Edith W. Spencer Peoples. She was a 1962 graduate of Downingtown Joint Senior High School. While she held several jobs throughout her life, including owner and sole proprietor of the Beauty Hut in Downingtown, PA in the 1960’s, her favorite job was bartending at the American Legion Post #379 in Bedford, Texas, where she had 30 years of service at the time of her retirement. Her role as a mom was what Barb cherished most of all. She was a devoted and supportive mom to her two children, whom she loved with all her heart. Barb was a people-person who never met a stranger. People were drawn to her by her good-natured, fun-loving and kind spirit. She had a knack for making people feel welcome and appreciated, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Never shying away from a challenge, she began playing golf in her 40’s and it quickly became her favorite pastime. She loved the game itself, but especially for the opportunities it gave her to spend more time with friends, her daughter, husband and brother. Being a staunch Philadelphia Eagles fan in Dallas Cowboys country is frowned upon to say the least, but Barb never let that diminish her enthusiasm. She was loud and proud when supporting her “Iggles” on game day, regardless of who was within ear shot. In addition to her husband, Barb is survived by her loving children, Tonia L. Farnum of Coatesville, PA and Anthony J. (Jennifer) Farnum of Exton, PA; grandchildren, Nicholas J. Farnum and Mason J. Farnum of Exton, PA; brother John R. Peoples of Coatesville, PA; and nephew John R. Peoples, Jr. of Coatesville, PA. She was also stepmother to three daughters: Doreen Bawolak Leamon of N. Ridgeville, OH; Debbie Bawolak Robison of Riverview, FL; and Denise Bawolak (John) Hawk of Cleveland, OH; and step-grandmother to Ashlyn and Evan Leamon, Morgan Casto, Megan Mysliwczyk, and Tyler and Trey Robison. She is also survived by her beloved rescue fur baby, Lacey.
