She was born Betty Lou Copeland on Jan. 26, 1933, in Kingfisher, Okla. Betty's passion throughout her life was to care for her family. She did this well. For her family, she was always there for them, nurturing and teaching. Betty enjoyed sewing and needlework.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Zelma Copeland; a brother, Donald Copeland; and a sister, Doris Hayes.
Survivors: Her husband of 62-plus years, Jack Applegate; her only child, Michelle Mayhand and husband, Michael; grandson, Waylon Johnson and wife, Melissa; great-grandchildren, Luke Bednar, Kelee Bednar and Taylor Renee Johnson; and her brothers, Vernon Copeland and Raymond Copeland.
