November 18, 1926July 25, 2020

Betty Mae Beatty Hancock, 93, passed away on July 25, 2020, in North Richland Hills, TX, with her family by her side.

Betty was born to the late Marjorie and Stanley Poffinbarger in West Middletown, Ohio on November 18, 1926. Betty will be remembered as a strong woman of faith in the Lord, who loved her family and friends. She served the Lord as a loving pastor's wife and then most recently she served as a faithful member at First Baptist Church of Fort Worth.

Betty had a caring heart that was fortified by her strength. She loved being a registered nurse and was known for providing excellent care. Also, her home was always open to welcome family and friends and it often served as a refuge for those in need. Betty had a dedicated, strong-willed spirit that will be greatly missed by her family and countless friends.

As her family mourns the loss of Betty, they are comforted by Christ's assurance that she is now in the presence of God, completely restored, and surrounded by a loving company of family and friends. Betty is survived by her son Robert E. Beatty III (spouse Shelly); her daughter Vicki Lynn Ritz (spouse Mark); 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, her two beloved husbands (Rev. Robert E. Beatty Jr. and Rev. Nonnie Hancock), and her wonderful daughter Patty Lynn Beatty Jones. Family and friends are invited to Betty's life celebration service at First Baptist Church of Fort Worth on August 3, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. There will be a viewing at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home on Sunday, August 2, 2020, from 3:00-5:00 pm.

Betty was more than a friend she was the greatest person and closest friend anyone could ever have. You could always call and talk to her anytime and she always had time for you , she loved everybody unconditionally and would always listen, she knew her Lord and always talked about him and knew we all needed him in our lives. She was truly a Godly woman and I know she is with the Lord in Heaven. I will miss her greatly , she was so beautiful inside and out. Love you forever Betty , I know you are enjoying Heaven at this time we are grieving your home going. You are gone but you will never be forgotten.

When I was a child I loved being around Betty. Betty was tremendously kind and had the most wonderful smile. All of my life I’ve not known her any differently. God sure had a supporter of life in Betty. Heaven will be filled a lot more because of her and Bob. I miss and will miss Betty many times, though, know I will find joy and comfort every time I think of her. God blessed us, may God continue to bless us.

I remember Betty and my mom in the church office every single Sunday taking in the offerings. My mom would count the money and her and my dad would take to the bank.

There were lots of memories from long ago and some more recent. I enjoyed celebrating birthdays with Betty. Her smile could light up a room! I wish I could have spent more time with her, but my own parents haven’t been in good health, and then Covid hit...I know she’s in Heaven now, looking down with love and pride for her family.
My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time. May God Bless them with comfort and so many glorious memories of a great lady.
