Born March 27, 1935 to William Arthur Burrell and Emma Violet Minton Burrell in Tarrant County.
Survivors include her four children Sharon Ruth Kuehn Brock, Nancy Mari Lee Allen, Billy Ray Mitchell, Jr and wife Kelli Edwards, Dr. James Arthur Mitchell and wife Eximanda Matute. Grandchildren and step grandchildren Michael Kuehn and wife Heather Hinton, David Kuehn, Jamie Kuehn Moran, Amy Lee Llanes and husband Isaac, Scott Lee, Daniel Lee, Billy Ray Mitchell III, Jon Mitchell, Steven Mitchell, Ethan Mitchell, Patrick Allen and wife Tamera, Scott Allen and wife Rachel, Wesley Rogers and wife Alexx, Hilary Rogers, Stephen Womack and wife Brittany, and Cristina Womack husband Paul Helms.
Great grand children and step grand children Caleb Moran, Avery Moran, Aaron Moran, Logan Kuehn, Isabella Llanes, Adriana Llanes, Boyd Lee, James Allen, Brett Allen, Nathan Courtney-Kudell, Maddison Allen, Sophia Helms, and Ariana Womack.
Survived by her sister-in-law, Helen Mitchell Quimby, numerous nieces, nephews and their families whom she loved dearly.
Betty married Billy Ray Mitchell on August 4, 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 64 years, son-in-law Lynn Edward Allen, grandson Joseph Mitchell, her 4 brothers, 3 sisters and their spouses.
Betty was a Southern Baptist, attending Oakwood Terrace Baptist, and First Baptist of Euless. She was a Sunday School Teacher, worked for a jewelry store in Irving, was an attendance office clerk and Library aide at Trinity High School. Betty painted, loved to garden, and travel. Her family meant the world to her and she was happiest when hosting reunions and celebrating holidays and birthdays with all of her family together.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 6-8 pm. Services will be held on August 4, 2018 at 12:30 pm in the chapel of Bluebonnet Hills Funeral home with Pastor Gary Taylor officiating. Betty will be laid to rest in the Garden of Rest at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park following the services Saturday. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
