He was born on February 5, 1942, in High Falls, Moore County, North Carolina. Bill was a flooring specialist and worked in the flooring industry for many years. Over the course of his life, he had many unique experiences, including working on an oil platform in the Gulf, on a shrimp boat, and even trying his hand at gold panning in California.
He was known as a true domino champion, always ready for a game with family and friends at any time—often even letting his older son, Shawn, win a few. One of his favorite daily rituals was taking his beloved dog, Izzy, for rides around the neighborhood or stopping by his son Shane’s place of business for a visit.
Shane fondly shared that with a nickname like “Wild Man,” there must have been plenty of fun and adventure in his younger years. He cherished time spent with his beloved sisters, Mary, with whom he resided, and Betty. Though a man of few words, he lived a life full of quiet adventures and meaningful moments.
He is survived by his children: Shawn Maynor and his wife, Pam, of Colleyville, Texas; Shane Maynor and his wife, Karla, of Fort Worth, Texas; and Shanda Maynor Logan and her husband, Christopher, of Azle, Texas. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Seth Maynor, Briana Maynor, Melea Maynor Jones and her husband, Thomas, Grant Maynor, and Christopher Maynor. He was especially proud of his great-grandson, Owen Maynor.
He is also survived by his two loving sisters, Mary Winn of North Richland Hills, Texas and Betty Sanders of Watauga, Texas, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl Burns and her husband, Willard Burns, and his father, Leon Maynor. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny “Jim” Maynor and Edward Maynor, and his sisters, Linda Locklear and Kathleen Smith.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 18, 2026, at Saginaw Family Bible Church, 228 S. Belmont Street, Saginaw, Texas 76179
