

Billy Lee Mullen was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Billy will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of Opal and Hubert Mullen. Billy grew up in Kansas, Oklahoma Texas.
Billy was raised with one sister. Barbara Mae. Billy was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young boy, Billy had a number of interests. Like most children, he enjoyed playing and making up games. He was curious about the world around him and was often eager to explore it. Billy was an active child who took part in Baseball and basketball. He was a member of Ada Oklahoma Roller Skate team. In his spare time he liked to read His sister always remembered him with his nose in a book. Billy's memorable achievements included Boy Scouts. Hunting with his friends. However, to Billy, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with his friends.
A typical teenager, Billy had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from Ada High School Ada Oklahoma in 1957. He enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers. His favorite class in high school was any class with numbers. The teacher he enjoyed learning from the most was Miss Stegall.
Always considered a “good” friend to those he knew, Billy enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during his lifetime. While growing up, some of his best friends were Sharlan Rose,OC Deaton Grady, Glen. Bill had many friends to numerous to mention.
On August 22, 1958 Billy exchanged wedding vows with Barbara Moser at Barbara's parents home of Wichita Falls, Texas. Empathic and loyal, Billy was committed to making his new family happy.
Billy worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Billy was blessed with Three children, One son Butch,and two daughters Christy, and Cheryl. Another blessing for Billy was the gift of 7 Grandchildren, Jeremy, Misti, Billy, Kali, Kelsi, Michael and Jennifer.
Fortunately, Billy enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Billy worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was in the Trucking industry . He spent most of his years in the trucking industry. Billy always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Billy enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Coin collecting Fishing, Watching his grandkids play sports. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
Billy found pleasure in sports. Bill was an avid fisherman. Bowling in his younger adult years. Billy was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he had the chance to do so. Tops on his list were all fishing shows Little league baseball and Dallas Cowboys.
Throughout his life, Billy was a doer and was always actively involved in professional and community organizations. Irving Bass Club worked with Little league baseball for many years and was Trinity High School Rodeo Sponsor.
Billy was a man who took pride in upholding his beliefs. So it is little wonder that he took an active role in his community, worked in the voting booths for elections.
Billy’s faith was important to him. He was a member of The Congregational Methodist church in Bedford,Texas Bill was saved December 10, 1952. During that time, he was loved the game night and all of the many get together we had at the church.
Though he never set out to gain individual recognition, Billy was given accolades for his many and varied accomplishments throughout his life. Billy Won Sportsman's of the year from Irving Bass Club, Many fishing trophies and plaques in the top ten.
Billy enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for him to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Billy loved to go to old Mexico to fish the lakes like El Salvo vacations with family.
Billy was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. One of his favorites was Bill had Trixie when he was growing up. We had many pets after we married. We had rabbits, Cheryl brought home hamsters from School to baby set over the summer but I think his last pet Truffles was his favorite has she was his chair buddy in his last day. She loved him as much as he loved her.
When Billy’s retirement finally arrived in Billy retired from Pacer Motor Lines in 2002., he was well prepared. His new life was to sit back and relax in our home and watch the world go by. In retirement, he found new pleasure in fishing, church , watching his great grandkids play sports. visiting with his sister and husband and play card with Jack and Berniece. Even in retirement, Billy continued to stay in touch with his old friends while making plenty of new acquaintances. Billy was active in his new community and felt fulfilled with the opportunities retirement offered him.
Billy died from prostrate cancer that spread to his bones. He fought a very long time and he just passed in his sleep. He is survived by his children Butch,Christy,and Cheryl and His Grand children Jeremy, Misti, Billy, Kali, Kelsi, Michael ,and Jennifer. Services were held at Bluebonnet Hill Funeral Home. Bill was cremated .
Simply stated, Billy was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Billy leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Billy Lee Mullen.

Billy Lee Mullen of Euless, Texas passed away at his home Sunday, December 10th, 2017. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, Papa to his grandkids and Bill to all that knew and loved him. He was born August 20,1939 in Halstead, Kansas to Hurbert and Opal Mullen. Bill grew up in Ada, Oklahoma until 1957 when he relocated to Wichita Falls, Texas. He attended school where he met his wife Barbara Moser Mullen. They were married for 59 years and resided in Euless, Texas for 55 of those years. They attended and enjoyed the fellowship of all the members of their church, Congregational Methodist in Euless. Bill was an avid fisherman, as was his wife Barbara. They were both members of the Irving Bass club. He also loved fishing with his son and grandchildren at every opportunity. His 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and great great grandson kept him busy in his spare time. Bill is survived by his loving wife Barbara, children; son Butch, daughters Christy Livingston and Cheryl Halbert, sister Barbara Mae(Gary), sister in law Carolyn Hall(Jackie), brother in law Don Moser(Candy), 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, many nieces and nephews extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Opal and Hubert Mullen. A Memorial to be held Friday, December 15th, 2017 at 12:30 pm at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Texas.
