Blanche Glynn Rizkal
Mrs. Blanche Glynn Rizkal, age 70, a loving wife, mom, granny and resident of Colleyville, TX, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 16th, 2023 after a long fought battle with cancer.
Blanche is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Sam. They were married in Los Angeles, California on November 22, 1980.
She is lovingly remembered by her children Michael, Matthew, Jason, and Meghan, daughters-in-law Beth and Chrisleen and grandchildren Amelia, Thomas, Hannah and Noah. Her family was her whole world and she loved each of them dearly.
Blanche was born in Terrell, TX on May 5th, 1953 to parents Thomas and Blanche Glynn. Blanche was the youngest of four siblings. After graduating from South Garland High School, Blanche earned her first bachelors degree in interior design from the University of North Texas. Blanche’s sense of adventure, along with a SafeWay management training program at the University of Southern California, took her to Los Angeles where she met and married the love of her life Sam. Shortly after their union, Sam and Blanche started their family welcoming four happy, healthy children into the world. Their life together took them overseas to Saudi Arabia, and after several years they ultimately settled in Blanche’s home state of Texas. Blanche was an exceptional wife and mother. Through ups and downs, thick and thin, Sam and her children always came first. Despite her large family, Blanche always made time for everyone, even while pursuing a second bachelors degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington. Throughout the years, her family continued to grow with the addition of two daughters-in-law whom she loved dearly and four grandchildren who became the lights of her life. Blanche was incredibly proud of the family that she and her loving husband built during their nearly 43 year marriage, including the traditions that they kept. Most of which was the tradition of Family Sundays where the family gathered for lunch and quality time together. Blanche was always happiest cooking and enjoying meals with her family. From her first day to her last, Blanche was always there to provide love and support.
Although she will be greatly missed, the light of her love will continue to guide her family, who takes comfort in knowing that Blanche is now resting in peace with her Heavenly Father.
