Bob Lee Hatfield

Robert “Bob” Lee Hatfield, 82, passed away on August 8, 2026. Born on June 3, 1944, in Wichita, Kansas, Bob was the son of Solon and Doris (Peacock) Hatfield and was raised in Wichita.

Bob graduated from Abilene Christian University and went on to build a career in accounting. He spent several years creating and working for Hatfield & Hatfield Incorporated alongside his brother, Gary, where he worked as a Certified Public Accountant. His professional life reflected the same qualities he brought to everything he did—dedication, intelligence, and a willingness to work hard while enjoying the people around him.

One of the greatest joys of Bob’s life was meeting Jeanne, the love of his life. The two met in high school during a lifeguarding class, and their relationship grew into a marriage that lasted more than 40 years. Together they raised two children, Robbi and John, and created a family filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.

Bob had a zest for life and rarely sat still for long. He loved flying airplanes, water skiing, snow skiing, and was an avid tennis player. He also loved to travel and cherished the opportunity to see the world. Italy held a special place in his heart, as did Budapest—a place he loved to talk about and was always quick to correct anyone who dared to pronounce it incorrectly.

Bob’s faith was an important part of his life. He loved his church family at North Richland Hills Church of Christ and especially enjoyed leading singing. His faith, his music, and his relationships with others were meaningful parts of the life he lived.

But perhaps Bob will be remembered most for his sense of humor. He was a lifelong jokester and a part-time comedian, always ready with a quip, a story, or a perfectly timed punchline. He had a gift for making people laugh and a personality that could fill a room. Those who knew Bob will remember not only the things he accomplished, but the laughter and joy he brought to the lives of others.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanne; his brother, Gary; and his parents, Solon and Doris Hatfield.

He is survived by his daughter, Robbi Hatfield (Rudy); his son, John (Abby); his brother, Don; and his grandchildren, Blake, Ellie, Brooke, and Brynn. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory.

Bob’s life was full of love, faith, family, friendship, adventure, and laughter. He will be deeply missed, but the stories, jokes, and memories he left behind will continue to bring smiles and laughter to those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
