Bonnie grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where she attended twelve years of Catholic school, graduating from Our Lady of the Lake High School. She later graduated from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) with a degree in Music and began her teaching career.
A gifted pianist, organist, vocalist, and teacher, Bonnie shared her talents generously. She was especially proud of her work with the children at Sunshine Cottage School for the Deaf in San Antonio, Texas, where through her patience, prayer, and love she guided deaf students to sing, play the keyboard and have an appreciation for music.
A devoted member of Gateway Church, Bonnie lived with a spirit full of zeal and joy for God. She was known for her fun-loving, enthusiastic, and inspirational nature. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Some of her most cherished memories were spent visiting her favorite foodie spots and indulging in new culinary experiences, watching movies, attending church, and embracing the finer things in life. Above all, she adored her children and cherished every moment spent spoiling her grandchildren.
Bonnie loved the Lord, and often you would find her reading the Bible and sharing Bible verses. Psalm 23 was her favorite passage for its promise of the Great Shepherd’s guidance, which brought her comfort throughout her life. She longed for the opportunity to be with God and Jesus in eternal paradise.
Bonnie spent 83 years sharing her amazing talents of song and music while bringing joy and fun to everyone around her. Her warmth, faith, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Her family is at peace knowing she has been called home to be with her father, Frederick Ellias Burkett Jr.; mother, Evelyn St. Clair Burkett; brother, Frederick Jeffery Burkett; and her husbands, Clifford Dale Broyles and Charles Michael Hart.
Survivors include: her children, Brian Paulk and wife, Shelley; Lisa Bohls and husband, Brandon; Clarisa Daaboul and husband, Jason; grandchildren, Hailey and Carly Paulk, Dylan and Lauren Daaboul; and numerous other relatives and friends.
