Brenda Gayle Sparks, 78, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of unconditional love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Born on August 31, 1947, in Moulton, Alabama, Brenda was the cherished daughter of James "Doc" Bradford and Eriedell Bradford. She spent her childhood in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1965.
In 1968, Brenda married the love of her life, Dennis Sparks, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love. They were blessed with two children, Alisha and Brett, who remained a constant source of pride throughout her life.
Brenda dedicated herself to raising her children as a homemaker until they reached high school. She later began a career in retail, serving in a variety of roles before retiring in 2009. While she valued her work, nothing ever compared to the joy she found at home with the people she loved most.
To know Brenda was to know how deeply she loved her family. She especially adored her grandchildren and treasured every opportunity to watch them grow, attend their sporting events, and celebrate each milestone in their lives. Becoming a great-grandmother brought her immeasurable happiness, and her family remained the center of her world until her very last day.
Brenda also enjoyed shopping, listening to music, and spending quiet moments surrounded by those she loved. Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson were among her favorite artists, and their music often filled her home. Whether gathered around the dinner table, cheering from the sidelines, or simply sharing time together, Brenda found her greatest joy in being with her family.
She will be remembered as a loving, caring, and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warmth made everyone feel at home. Her gentle heart, generous spirit, and steadfast love created memories that her family will carry with them forever.
Brenda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dennis Sparks; her parents, James "Doc" Bradford and Eriedell Bradford.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Alisha Brown and husband, Marc; her son, Brett Sparks; her grandchildren, Derek Brown, Sydney Quintero and husband, Mario, and Destin Sparks and wife, Haley; and her treasured great-grandson, Waylon Sparks, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Brenda's greatest gift was the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished beyond measure, and she will forever be loved, remembered, and deeply missed.
A visitation will be held at 10am with the funeral service following at 11am, both on Wednesday, August 12, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, with reception to follow (5275 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX). Mrs. Sparks will be reunited with her husband following the services at 2pm at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX).
