Brigitte Ruth McLean

Brigitte McLean, age 89, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully. She was born on January 30, 1937, in Breslau, Germany.

On April 2nd, 1960, Brigitte married the love of her life, David McLean, in Schweinfurt, Germany. Together they built a life centered on family, love, and caring for others. Brigitte arrived from Schweinfurt via ship at the Port of Quebec in the year 1960. They lived in Montreal, Calgary Alberta, Markham Ontario, Irving TX, and Fort Worth where their retirement together started.

Brigitte was a devoted homemaker and natural caregiver. She opened her home to many children over the years through the daycare she operated and took great pride in, nurturing and caring for the children entrusted to her who lovingly referred to her as “Gee”. Throughout her years she touched the lives of many families.

Above all, Brigitte cherished being a mother and caretaker. She had a deep love for gardening, found joy in tending to her plants and spending time outdoors. Her home was always immaculate inside and out and each holiday brought fitting decor with Christmas having a special place in her heart. Brigitte’s kindness, warmth, and nurturing spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.

In Brigitte’s last handful of years she suffered from dementia, yet her spirit and tenacity still showed. The caregivers loved her. She loved to kiss them on the cheek, and to give and receive hugs. Even at the facility in the midst of fighting the disease, she was always sure her living quarters was spotless and put together.

She is survived by her children Cindy Repucci, Debbie McLean, and Derek McLean, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Brigitte's life was one of compassion, dedication, selflessness, and love for family. Her legacy of care and kindness will live on in the many lives she touched.

A Graveside service for Brigitte will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034 at 2:00PM on Thursday, March 19th.
