

Bruce Rydberg, of Mabank, TX, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021 in Keller, TX. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, uncle, grandpa, great grandpa, and a friend to all that knew and loved him.
Bruce was born on November 11, 1947, in Staples, MN to the parents of Rose and Kurt Rydberg. He grew up in Falcon Heights, MN where he graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School in 1965. Bruce served four years in the United States Navy where he did three tours in Vietnam. Bruce was recognized with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one Silver Star, and a Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device.
Bruce married Sue Steffes and they were together for 46 years. Together they raised a set of twins – Eric and Brant Rydberg. He worked his entire career at Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway where he retired after 40 years of service. He enjoyed being a grandpa, being retired, donating his time to the Roanoke VFW, smoking briskets and pulled pork, watching his investments, and drinking an occasional Miller Lite.
Bruce is survived by son, Eric Rydberg (Dawn), son, Brant Rydberg (Rebeca) grandchildren Dylan Rydberg, Chelsie Rydberg, Autumn Rydberg, Travis Bentham, Megan Adams (Patrick) and great grandchild, Grayson Adams, brother-in-law Steve Steffes, and nephew Tom Steffes. He was preceded in death by wife, Sue Rydberg, father, Kurt Rydberg and mother, Rose Rydberg.
A service will be held Saturday January 29, 2022, at 3 p.m. at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home – Colleyville, TX.
