Born on February 28, 1934, in Syracuse, New York, she grew up in Syracuse. She was a dedicated and loving wife to her husband Bill, and a devoted mother to her children Anthony Clayton, Douglas Clayton, and Darlene Moseley and an affectionate "Mooshie" to her grandchildren.
Catherine lived a fulfilling life and was a devoted Christian woman of faith. She had a passion for cooking and baking, and her homemade dishes were always the highlight of family and church gatherings. She enjoyed reading books, watching old movies, and ice skating.
Catherine was a kind and generous soul, always putting others’ needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her and she will be remembered for her infectious smile and warm personality.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bill Clayton, their children Tony (Nancy) Clayton, Doug (Ann) Clayton, Darlene (Tye) Moseley, 9 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren, and by her brother Frank (Marie) Scicchitano. All will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her parents Anthony and Fanny Scicchitano and her younger brother Tony “Jr.” Scicchitano.
A private celebration of life will be held for immediate family members. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be mailed to High Plains Children’s Home, PO Box 7448, Amarillo, Texas 79114, or online at hpch.org, in memory of Catherine Mary Clayton.
Rest in peace, dear wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, in the arms of our Savior. You will forever be in our hearts and memories and your legacy will live on in the lives of your loved ones
