

Charles W. Campbell, 93, passed on to his eternal home on Saturday, March 7, 2015. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 AM Wednesday, with interment to follow, all at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Charles was born on September 14, 1921, in Cleburne, Texas, the son of Clay Garfield Campbell and Sallie Pearl Pollock. He was a Technical Sergeant in the Medical Detachment of the 12th Infantry during WWII. After serving in the war, he married La Verne Hogg in a blessed union that lasted 63 years. He retired after 36 years from the Material Control Department at General Dynamics, and then enjoyed being a longtime member of the Lockheed Martin retirees group. An avid photographer, he enjoyed travel, especially throughout Texas. Very skilled with his hands, he loved building and yard work, and enjoyed all things airplane related. His most precious honor in life was his devotion to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought him great joy and were truly the apple of his eye. Charles loved the Lord, and served Him faithfully throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, La Verne Campbell; parents, Clay and Pearl Campbell; two brothers; Bill and Tony; sisters; Rhonda and Dell, and two granddaughters; Laurie and Emily. He is survived by his son, Charles Campbell, Jr. and wife, Linda; daughter, Karen and husband, Don; grandchildren, Chris, Paul, Susanna, and Rebecca; three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Corbin and Ella; one brother, Harlan Campbell, and wife, Mary, and numerous dear family and friends.
