

Charles Edward Cotten Jr. was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Charles will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of Charles and Clementine Cotten. He was a lifelong resident of Fort Worth.
Charles was raised with three sisters, Doris, Shirley, Martha and one brother, Lee. Charles was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings shared many life experiences over the years.
He graduated from Paschal High School in Fort Worth, Texas
He attended Texas Christian University.
Charles worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Charles was blessed with one daughter, Cynthia. Another blessing for Charles was the gift of two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, Christopher, Laura, Anastasia, Aubrielle, Adeleine, Andrew, Autumn, and Austin.
Fortunately, Charles enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Charles worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. Charles retired from the Federal Aviation Administration after a long career.
Charles was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving his country during World War II. He received the Bronze Star.
Charles’s faith was important to him. He was a member of Legacy Church of Christ in North Richland Hills and was active with the Primetimers group.
Charles enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for him to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. He loved the mountains and traveled there frequently.
Charles passed away on September 25, 2016 in Hurst, Texas. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Eloise Cotten; daughter, Cynthia Ann Maloney and husband Keith of Allen, Tex.; grandchildren, Christopher Maloney and wife Christina of Mineola, Tex., and Laura Pierce and husband Jordan of Keller, Tex,; great grandchildren, Anastasia, Aubrielle, Adeleine and Andrew Maloney and Autumn and Austin Pierce; siblings, Martha Smith of North Richland Hills and Lee Cotten and wife Mary of Joshua, Tex. And numerous cherished nieces and nephews. Services were held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Colleyville, Texas. Charles was laid to rest in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
He was known for his caring heart and practical wisdom as well as dedication, honesty, integrity and unshakeable faith in God. Charles was known for his love of family and his unceasing devotion to his wife. Their deep and abiding love for each other will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Charles E. Cotten, Jr., a beloved husband, dad, granddad, great granddad, and brother went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016. Charles was born in 1924 in Fort Worth.
