Charles Davis, of North Richland Hills, TX, passed away on July 26, 2021. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend to all that knew him. He was born on October 15, 1951 in Freeport, TX to James Murphy and Millie Irene Davis. He was married to Janet Davis for 47 years.
When he was younger, Charles Davis enjoyed saddle bronc and bull riding. Charlie won some rodeos and left others with broken bones. It wasn’t always about the win; it was more about the adventure getting there. Charlie went to school to become a diesel mechanic. This not only was a career; it became a hobby. Charlie could find an old shell of a vehicle and make the vehicle like new again, even if it had no frame! Charlie restored classic cars not only because he enjoyed making something new again, but because he enjoyed working with his son. He did this to teach those around him and watch them grow from his knowledge. Charlie was always willing to help; to lend a hand; or to be the first one to run to the rescue at 2am when you were stuck and didn’t know who to call. Charlie was always respectful, always wanting to do for others, never boastful, but full of pride. Charlie was a Master Mason of the Tarkington Prairie Masonic Lodge. He retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers after a 46-year career as a heavy equipment operator. Charlie loved his children and grandchildren, and watching what his family had become. He was the first one to tell you he was proud of you and the first one to tell you when you were wrong. Charlie was soft hearted; and strong- willed. Charlie was supportive of and involved in his children’s activities including band, Boy Scouts, and martial arts. Charlie was loved by many and missed by many more.
Charles Davis is survived by wife, Janet Davis of North Richland Hills, Tx, son, Chad Davis, daughter, Christina Crump, son in law, Jonathan Crump, granddaughter, Jillian Crump, and grandson Jordan Crump. Charles Davis is also survived by brothers James Davis, Richard Davis, and Roger Davis and 5 nephews. Preceded in death by his father and mother, grandparents, and niece Connie Davis.
