Chris was born on October 17, 1973 in Tucson, AZ to Captain (USAF) Vincent (Jim) Lozito, Jr. and Candus Lozito.
Having grown up in a military family, Chris lived in several locations in his childhood which he continued to add to through college. This travel had a profound effect on Chris that shaped him and how he approached his life and served as a foundation to many of the meaningful relationships he created throughout.
After a short time in Tucson, the family moved to Tempe, AZ where Chris took on the role and purpose that he held dear in his entire life - that of big brother to his brother Michael and, after a move to Dayton, OH, the big brother to his sister Jenny. It was also in Dayton where Chris found two things that would captivate him for a lifetime, his love of a good snowfall and his connection with golf.
After 4 years in Dayton, the family moved briefly to Montgomery, AL for nearly one year then returned to Dayton for an additional 5 years. Then the family moved to Albuquerque, NM where he spent the next decade of his life. While attending La Cueva High School, he forged many friendships that would last a lifetime.
Beyond the normal high school experience, Chris spent a lot of time in the mountains skiing and fishing. He attended the University of New Mexico for his freshman year, but as was established by his childhood travels with the family and his time traveling around New Mexico and the desert Southwest, it was time to explore again…this time on his own.
He briefly went back to Ohio to attend Xavier University, followed by Boise State University. After returning briefly to Albuquerque and graduating from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, he moved to Portland, OR, which became his adulthood home. It was there he married and became the the father of his two children son Dylan and daughter Serena.
In Portland Chris began his professional career in corporate recruiting until he got into pharmaceutical sales in which he spent the majority and rest of his professional career. While Chris was very successful professionally, his priority was always to be a good father.
He devoted his attention and energy into his children. By his guidance and personal example, he instilled in them the importance of their faith, family and friends, and core values in their lives. With the traveling gene cemented in childhood, Chris and his family were true road warriors. Often on the move, soaking in much that was to be seen and explored. Chris even coined the phrase “trip to nowhere” which meant that the journey was the destination because there was no real destination in mind. It was just time well spent…and seeing and experiencing the world with his family.
Chris never wasted a day. From his golf outings that turned into nights with his golf buddies to his ski and fishing trips with friends to his cherished family reunions, Chris was all in. He always took a genuine interest in others, particularly family and friends, learning about others experiences, where they came from and the values they represented.
Up to his last day, Chris was planning for one more round of golf with his best friends and son and, as the Lord took him home, the snow started to fall - just as Chris would have wanted.
Chris is survived by his parents, Lt Col (Ret.) Jim and Candus Lozito; brother, Michael Lozito; sister, Jenny Lozito Buchwald; son, Dylan Lozito; daughter, Serena Lozito; and many caring uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
