Clara was born on July 3, 1930 to Hugh McKissen Hunter and Nixie Vivian Ledbetter in Foss Oklahoma. She grew up in Madera California with her six siblings and graduated from Madera High School in 1948.
Clara married the love of her life, Floyd Shillings on October 26, 1952.
She is survived by her son Curtis Shillings, his wife Cindy, and her son Tim Shillings and his wife Liz. Clara is in heaven with her husband Floyd and daughter Alison Leath and great grand daughter Amelia.
Clara moved to Texas in 1966 where she devoted her life to taking care of her family and always loved them the most (as she would say). After briefly moving to Georgia and Ohio she settled down in Texas for good. She found endless joy with her 6 beautiful grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
Clara’s service will be held at Bluebonnet Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 6th. Viewing will take place at 10:00am with funeral service at 11:00am.
