Clarence Burton Allman (Burt), 71, of Bedford, Texas, passed away on May 12, 2016 peacefully in his sleep. Let us remember that God was pleased with him and called him home. Burt was born in Denver, Colorado on July 21, 1944. He graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School Class of 1962 and continued on to receive a B.S. Degree from Lamar University where he was a key contributor as a defensive half-back in the inaugural year of the Southland Conference where Lamar Cardinals won the 1964-65 Championship. Burt was married to Cathy Cuccio on December 12, 1975 and they were married over 40 years.
Burt worked as a district sales manager for Pitney Bowes for over 24 years before retiring several years ago. He was a talented and avid fisherman; enjoyed R&B music, all forms of motorsports and watching his Texas Rangers. He also served as an usher at St. Michael Catholic Church. Burt is survived by his wife Cathy, their sons Chris and Jeff Allman, his daughters, Erin Manzello and Shea Ceaujean, his grandchildren, Zoë, Tanner, Paige, Larry, Chase, Nicolas and his twin brother Michael Allman, nephews Chad and David Allman; his daughter-in-law Sondra Allman and his son-in-law Eddie Manzello; cousins Barbara Ryan, Dwayne Hunt and his nieces and nephews along with other family and many friends. Burt is preceded in death by his parents Clifton B. and Elsie (LaPoint) Allman, his maternal grandparents Arthur R. LaPoint and Gertrude LaPoint, all of Port Neches, Texas; and his paternal grandparents Joseph (Woody) & Fernanda Allman of Jackson, Mississippi. If preferred and in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.
