

Connie Rae Whatley, 80, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on June 21, 2026.
Born on June 20, 1946, in Omaha, Nebraska, Connie was the daughter of John Foster and Hazel Foster. She married the love of her life, Dennis Whatley, on December 28, 1968, in Modesto, California. Together they shared 57 years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, kindness, and service to others.
Connie dedicated more than 30 years of her professional life as a teacher and administrative assistant. She had a genuine passion for helping others and especially loved teaching children. Her caring nature, patience, and warm heart left a lasting impression on countless students, coworkers, friends, and family members.
A faithful member of North Fort Worth Baptist Church, Connie lived her life guided by her Christian faith and was a shining example of Christ’s teachings. She believed in treating others with compassion, grace, and generosity, and she never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Connie found great joy in spending time with family and friends. She loved playing games and was known for keeping detailed records of her victories, a tradition that always brought smiles and laughter to those around her. She also enjoyed reading, going to movies with her husband and friends, and caring for animals. Her love for pets was so great that she would often take in stray cats and provide them with the care and affection they needed.
More than anything, Connie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her genuine kindness touched everyone who knew her, and her loving spirit will be remembered for years to come.
Connie is survived by her beloved husband, Dennis Whatley of Fort Worth, Texas; her sons, Glen Whatley of Fort Worth, Texas, and Paul Whatley of Denton, Texas; her sisters, Mitzi Wesley of Fort Worth, Texas, and Diane Schaber of Nashville, Tennessee; and her three cherished grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Foster and Hazel Foster.
Connie’s family will remember her as a woman whose heart and actions always came from a place of love. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A funeral service for Connie will be begin at 10am on Tuesday, June 30, at North Fort Worth Baptist Church, 5801 I-35W, Fort Worth, TX 76131. The committal service will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034.
