Cullen Wayne Turner, 84, of Bedford, Texas, set out on his final journey on August 29, 2025, passing peacefully at home while holding hands with his wife.
Born November 18, 1940, in Texas to Cullen Yates and Dorothy Turner, Cullen lived life to the fullest. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Commerce from Texas Christian University, he proudly served as a finance officer in the U.S. Army. He went on to a successful career as Assistant Vice President at Haltom City Bank, where he not only excelled professionally but also devoted himself to his faith community, helping to build his church and extending generosity to others, including offering low-interest loans to those in need.
But Cullen was so much more than his résumé. He was a competitor on the bowling lanes and tennis courts, an adventurer who loved to explore, and a globe-trotter who set sail on more than 85 cruises. If there was a new destination to see, Cullen was already packing his bags. His motto was simple: “Live your life the way you want to do it” and he did just that.
Cullen first shared life’s adventures with his late wife, Pamela Turner. Together they raised two sons: Berry (Rhonda) Turner and Carey Turner, who shared his life with his beloved wife, the late Michelle. Cullen was a proud Grandpa to his six grandchildren; Brycen, Britten, Addy, (children of Berry and Rhonda) Nicholas, Kevin, and Jason (children of Carey and Michelle).
Later, love found Cullen again with his wife, Cynthia Turner. With her, his family grew to include two stepsons: Patrick (Pam) Vallejo and Chris (Stephanie) Vallejo, and he was blessed with two granddaughters, Avary and Elliana, who brought him endless joy.
Though he was an only child, Cullen never lived like one; his circle of family, friends, and fellow travelers was always full. He will be remembered for his generosity, his adventurous spirit, and his ability to make life fun.
Cullen has now set sail on the greatest journey of all, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and memories that will live on forever. Bon voyage, Cullen—we’ll catch up with you at the next port of call.
