

He was born in Bronson, Texas. He married Margie McGahey on November 11, 1960. They made their home in Vidor, Texas and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past November surrounded by their family. They moved to Denton to be close to their daughters after Hurricane Harvey flooded their home in 2017.
Dalton was employed for 24 years at the DuPont plant in Beaumont, Texas. After leaving there he went on to start his own business in Vidor, Morris Heating and Air Conditioning. He took pride in serving the people in South East Texas and made many friends along the way. He was also a member of the Evening Optimist Club and enjoyed serving his community and helping with numerous fundraisers, one of his favorite being the annual Christmas tree sale.
He was an outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. Many hours were spent with his family and friends enjoying their camp house on Toledo Bend lake or at the deer lease in Johnson City. Attending church was also very important to him. His strong Christian faith served him well during his adult life. He was an active leader in worship first at Northwest Baptist Church in Vidor where he often taught Sunday School, helped with youth, sang and even directed music when needed. He later became a member of First Baptist Church in Vidor where he continued to be active in the church.
Dalton is survived by his wife of 60 years Margie Morris and their two daughters Teresa Francis of Colleyville, Texas and Lori Jones of Ponder, Texas. Four grandchildren: Tamsyn and Breelyn Francis, and Whitney and Chaise Glenn, and two son-in-laws Bobby Francis and Tom Jones.
A private graveside service will be held Thursday, January 21@12:30pm in Colleyville, Texas at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made in his memory to MD Anderson Cancer Center by following the link below.
