

Born on December 16, 1945, in Brattleboro, VT to the late Lillian Hosmer and William Mellen. Darlene spent her childhood in Brattleboro, VT before moving to Long Beach, CA where she meet our father, Vernon Harpole. The couple later moved to Pilot Point, Texas, where they were married and made their home together.
Darlene later settled in Denton, TX where she began working at Eckerd Drugs. It was there that she met her beloved husband, Reigan Looney. Together they later moved to Grapevine, TX where Darlene worked as a Personal Banker for Texas Bank until her retirement.
After retiring, Darlene and Reigan moved to Springfield, MO in 2015, where they cherished their time together until Reigan’s passing. Darlene later returned to Texas, settling in Cleburne, Texas to be closer to her family.
Darlene devoted her life to her family. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be remembered for her warm smile, generous spirit, infectious laugh, and her love of shopping, travel, and caring for her two kittens.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reigan Looney; her son, Mark Harpole; and her daughter, Lori Kruger.
Darlene is survived by her daughters, Bobbie Cobun of Gainesville, Texas; Beverly Williams of Kopperl, Texas; and Kimberly Morris of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Cody Harpole, Jimmy West, Marc Morris, Brittaney Morris, Alexandria Kleven, Jimmy D. Kruger, and Tabitha Kruger; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on July 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
