Darren will never be forgotten by me. Although we have been friends since Junior High we reconnected several years back. Today the world feels a little bit lonlier knowing he's not in it but I will never forget what a great friend he was to me. I will miss him.

Played against Aaron and Darren through youths sports, then played with them once we reached high school. Lots of fun and memories back in high school, from Young Life Camp to Padre Island . . . to his antics in the huddle during football games. Good times. Lifting up the family during this time.

“He treated his daughters’ friends as his own and became known as the fun, favorite dad”

My daughter Emma has been on the same volleyball team as Mackenzie since middle school. We got to know Darren during their games as we would sit with each other almost every game. My family and I loved him. My father would sit and talk with him and laugh, and my mother would sit with Mrs. Barbara and visit with her. And although we hadn’t been friends for very long, it didn’t take much to cherish the friendship of this man and know what a great human he was. My daughter would frequently get rides to and/or from games and practices and was always excited to spend time with him. He was so funny and was always making jokes. We always had a smile when we talked to him or about him. We have nothing but fondness and love for this man. Our hearts break and our thoughts prayers go out to his parents, children and entire family. He was taken way too soon and I’m so sad he won’t be sitting in the stands with us next year watching our girls play. He loved his daughters with all his heart. I know he will forever be watching over them and protecting them from Heaven.
May you rest In peace my friend. You are and always will be adored by so many. ♥️ We miss you. — with Jan Haynes Kindel and David Kindel.

I will miss my almost daily visits with Darren while walking my dog. Darren was always friendly and ready to share his latest highlights which usually included McKenzie’s latest achievements. Darren was so proud of her! He was always inquiring if I needed anything or if there was something he could do for me. He was a gentle soul who will be missed.

Not many people can get away with calling me Sissymore. But somehow he smiled, said it and it was ok.
Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
A great guy!!!
