David Eugene Forbus

David “The Papa Man” Eugene Forbus passed on June 1, 2026, at the age of 66, and was a resident of North Richland Hills, Texas. He was born in Paris, Texas, on June 13, 1959, to Raymond and Jean Forbus. David was raised in Irving, Texas, and graduated from University of Texas at Arlington and University of North Texas at Denton.

In 1978, David married the love of his life, Martha Forbus. Together they had three boys, who gave them great pride and joy. David loved spending time with his “Dollbaby” and family, going on many cruises, fishing, spending time at The Farm, reading, completing crosswords, watching Dallas sports, and singing.

David never met a stranger; he shined with his joking personality and could make anyone laugh. In business, David was a public educator and taught the gift of music to elementary students. After many years, he retired as the Deputy Superintendent from Lake Worth ISD. Congruently he served for 11 years at the First United Methodist Church, in Euless, as the Minister of Music and then as Youth Director. After that, he spent 35 years as the Minister of Music at Northgate United Methodist Church.

David will be lovingly remembered by his devoted Wife, Martha Forbus; loving Children Matthew and Mandy (Phillips) Forbus, Dustin and Rebecca (Smith) Forbus, and Andrew and Nicole (Hume) Forbus; cherished Grandchildren Dylan Forbus, Arley Forbus and Max Forbus; Mother Jean Forbus; and finally, his sisters Diane Michael and Debra Alonzo. David is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Forbus.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Friday, June 5; A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 6, 2026, both at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 7603, with a committal and reception to follow.
