He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all that knew him. He was born on April 26, 1939, to Joe David and Florence Emma Crockett on the Texas side of Texarkana.
Dennis, “Denny to many of his family members”, worked his way through Texas Wesleyan University at Texas Steel. After college, he continued to work at Texas Steel/Southwest Steel for 27 years. To provide better benefits for his family he then worked 18 years at Vought Aerospace. He was a hard worker and instilled that value in his family. He loved to fish, tell his life events stories, garden, drive a tractor, and spend time with his family.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sue (Sparkman) Crockett; Son, Byron Crockett and wife Julie; Daughter, Kimberly Zak and husband Joe; Grandchildren, Ashley Crockett and fiancé Jordy Ray, Katelyn Zak, Christopher Zak and Coleton Crockett; brother, Darrell Crockett and wife Jane; brother-in-law/friend Raymond Lynn; sisters-in-laws Glenna Sparkman, Peggy Sparkman, and Ruth Middleton; his adopted daughters, Brenda Huskey, Becky Sue Gober, and Barbara Routledge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Glenn Crockett, Jack Crockett, and Bob Middleton; and sisters, Ruth Martindale, Neva Busby, and Martha Lynn.
The visitation will be held from 5 - 7 o’clock p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at the Alliance Community Fellowship located on 2185 Golden Heights Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76177. The service will be officiated by Dennis’s nephew, Scott Jackson.
Funeral service will be held at 10 o’clock a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2020, at Alliance Community Fellowship. Due to COVID 19 only close family members will go to Interment at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park immediately following service.
