A message from the family:
Before today, we walked this world with our Mother by our side, guiding us, even through our adult years.
Our Mother was undoubtedly our guiding light. Now that she is not physically here, we are forced to learn a new way to walk. We are everything we are today because of our beautiful queen. We keep reminding ourselves that everything, whether good or bad, happens for a reason, and that His plans are better than our own. Plain and simple words cannot express the sorrow and sadness that weigh on our hearts. As we lay her bright and loving soul to rest, our hope is that we continue to make our mama proud.
You know our mom was filled with love for her family, whether related by blood, marriage, or affection. While we are devastated by her passing, we are humbled by the outpouring of love received, sympathies expressed, and memories shared. Truth be told, she wasn't one to seek or desire all this attention or validation. Be that as it may, as reluctant as she'd be with us making a big deal out of her passing and the arrangements that would follow, she'd be filled with love knowing that this brought the entire family together to celebrate her life.
We are certain that every last one of us, including yourselves, has not only stories or memories of her but also life lessons she imparted to each of us throughout the years. Our hearts are lifted, knowing that she will live on through every last one of us, in the laughter we hear when we retell her stories, the love we feel as we relive those memories, and the wisdom we share when we pass on her teachings. While our hearts will be heavy with her absence of body, we will celebrate in her presence of spirit.
We love you, Mom!
