

Dolores “Dee” Johnson went home to be with the Lord on January 4, 2024. She was born in Warfield, Kentucky on August 30, 1934 to Homer and Alice Kirk. She was the oldest of 5 siblings, May, Faye, Barbara and Chip.
Since her retirement from her career as a real estate broker,
Dee enjoyed playing mah-jongg and other activities with her friends, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great, great grandchild!
Dee was preceded in death by her husband Jean Johnson, her brother Chip Kirk (Jenny) and her daughter Barbie Shushok.
She is survived by her daughters Mary Kirk (Ron), Joan Darden (Mike), Fran Riggs and Lisa Shushok, along with grandchildren Jeremy Darden (Kim), Matt Travis (Brooke), Mikal Darden (Leslie), Lena Satterlee (Blake), Mallory Gilliam (Nick), Daniel Kirk, Halen Gilliam and Michelle Arledge (Cody). She also is survived by 11 great-grandchildren Anna Darden, Audrie Darden, Aaron Darden, Jack Travis, Brannan Travis, Nora Satterlee, Evie Satterlee, Ella Satterlee, Banner Satterlee, Blair Satterlee, Terra Darden and one more on the way, Henry Arledge. Dee also recently became a great-great grandmother to Vada Darden.
Dee consistently exuded elegance, always the epitome of grace and beauty in any gathering, but even greater than her outward appearance, was her inner beauty consisting of her kind and generous heart, her wonderful sense of humor and her unwavering love and dedication to family and friends.
A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 11 AM at Countryside Bible Church in Southlake, Texas.
