Donna Sue Payne

Donna Sue Payne, born on August 22, 1958, passed away on February 4, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and service to others.

Donna graduated from South Grand Prairie High School and went on to attend nursing school. She devoted her professional life to nursing, a career that reflected her compassionate nature and deep desire to care for others.

Donna was married to Steve Gilpin and was a proud and loving mother to her two children, Melissa and Eric. Her greatest joy came from her family, especially her role as a grandmother. She cherished her four grandsons and was actively involved in their lives, supporting and loving them wholeheartedly.

A woman of strong faith, Donna lived with grace, kindness, and a servant’s heart. She will be remembered for her warmth, dedication to her family, and the many lives she touched throughout her life and career.

Donna is survived by her brothers Jerry Payne and Larry Payne; her sister Norma Payne; her son Eric Gilpin; her daughter Melissa Pratt; and her beloved grandsons Connor Pratt, Dylan Pratt, Wyatt Gilpin, and Sawyer Gilpin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Payne and Imogene Schmidt Payne.

Donna will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park, located in Bluebonnet Hall at 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, Texas, 76034. The service is scheduled for February 14, 2026, starting at 10:00 am.
