

Doris was born December 20, 1930 in Minneota, Minnesota the 5th of 5 daughters to Melvin and Alma (Jerpbak) Halvorson. After high school she married Harvey James in 1950. After they married they lived for a time in Portsmouth, Virginia. The couple returned to Litchfield, Minnesota after his discharge from the U.S. Navy. In July 1963 they relocated their 4 daughters (and one on the way) and their dog to Irving, Texas. The dog got to fly!
Doris was active in Girl Scouts, Luther League, Meals on Wheels, and served on Church Council at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Doris was a foster parent and a volunteer at the senior care home. She was a fabulous chocolate chip cookie maker as can be attested to by many grandchildren!
Doris was preceded in death by her husband Harvey, daughter Janet Elaine, and her sisters, Alice, Vi, Irene, and June. She is survived by her daughters Valerie, Nancy, Julie and Joni. She has 13 grandchildren (one deceased) and she has 13 great grandchildren and another due within the month. She was much loved and will be missed. A Memorial Service will be at 10:30 am on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Grace Chapel in White's Chapel United Methodist Church, 185 S. White Chapel Blvd., Southlake, TX 76092.

Doris Elaine Christianson passed away Thursday August 23, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Harvey James.
