

Dorothy Stephens, age 93 of North Richland Hills, Texas passed away on June 16, 2022. She was born in Eastland, Texas on February 10, 1929 and moved to Ft. Worth in 1935. Dorothy participated in distributive education in high school so she was able to work and graduated from Brantley Draughon Business School.
She married Ralph Stephens Jr. on February 26, 1949 and became a wife, homemaker and mother for the remainder of her years. Dorothy had a passion for gardening, baking and fishing, interests that she happily pursued in retirement years with Ralph at their dream lake home in Palo Pinto. They returned to North Richland Hills in 1997 following an accident that injured Ralph severely and she was his faithful and loving caretaker until his death in 2007.
As a charter member of Richland Hills Methodist Church, Dorothy displayed her faith all of her years through her attendance and service and lived her life with an open and loving heart. She was loved by all that had the privilege of meeting her.
Dorothy loved baking cakes for her family and was always happiest when she was surrounded by all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The gatherings were always loud and full of love, laughter, and lots of food. Her dry sense of humor ran through the entire family and she loved laughing with them and at them!
To describe Dorothy takes many adjectives. She was feisty, soft hearted, kind, had a fierce love for her friends and family, she had tremendous strength on the inside and everyone who knew her would say that she was just a classy lady.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Stephens, parents Vernon and Dixie Hallum, and sisters Shirley Jo Willis and Norma Faye Lesley. She is survived by her children Ranelle Humphries and her husband Gary, Russell Stephens and his wife Susan, and Roger Stephens and his wife Betsy and brother Aubrey Hallum and his wife Yvonne.
Grandchildren Dallas Grivich and husband Shane, Summer Humphries, Kim Blacklock and husband Lyndsey, Ryan Stephens and wife Amy, Kate Burch and husband Aaron, Carolyn Scott and husband Daryk, Amy Stephens, and Sarah Stephens.
Great grandchildren Canyon Blacklock, Kayla Blacklock, Maizy Grivich, Cash Grivich, Kendall Stephens, River Stephens, Noraa Burch, Korbin Burch, Luca Burch and Maverick Burch and many nieces and nephews and treasured friends.
Tribute to her life will begin on Thursday, June 23 with visitation at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home from 4:00-6:00 PM. Services to honor her rest will be held on Friday, June 24 at City Point Methodist Church, 7301 Glenview Dr., Richland Hills, TX at 1:00 PM with graveside service at Bluebonnet Hills at 3:00 PM.
