Dorothy Kathryn Towery, age 96, passed away on February 2nd, 2026. She was born in Amarillo, Texas on September 25th, 1929 to Douglas and Dollie Beard. Dorothy graduated from Amarillo High School. She was married to Don Towery in April 1950. She worked for many years at Central Freight Lines. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association and had a passion for word puzzles, shopping, collecting salt boxes, and sweets. Dorothy will be remembered for being impeccably dressed, for her independence, and for the faith she instilled in her family.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Elmer Carrol Beard and her parents Douglas and Dollie Beard.
She is survived by her sons, Richard and wife Judy, and Rodney and his wife Sharon. She is also survived by her grandchildren Casey and wife Sarah, Zach and wife Jen, Mason, Megan and husband Matt, Logan and 10 great grandchildren.
Dorothy was laid to rest at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
