

Funeral Services will commence Saturday, November 22, 2014 in the Chapel of Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Friends are invited for a time of visitation and sharing with the family starting at 1 p.m. Saturday. Burial will follow services in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
Bertie was born March 8, 1936, in Greenville, Texas, to Grover Cecil and Viola Eads Cecil Pennington and had no siblings. She married Phillip Coleman Harwell on February 26, 1956, in Weatherford, Texas. They had three children, Stephanie Lynn Harwell, Deborah Marie Harwell Evans and Phillip Coleman Harwell, Jr. and resided in North Richland Hills, Texas. Bertie started working at a young age and continued her retail career until retirement.
Bertie enjoyed anything having to do with the outdoors, including feeding the birds, sitting in her swing, and her favorite past-time, tending her beloved yard, especially her roses. She liked traveling the world, most often with her long-time friend, Kathryn Williams. Bertie adored her kids and grand/great grandchildren and looked forward to all holidays so they could all be together.
Bertie was predeceased by her husband, Phillip; her daughter, Stephanie; her parents, Viola and Cecil; her step-father, Willard “Bill” Pennington; grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Bertie is survived by her children, Debbie and Phillip and his wife, Paula; grandchildren, Jennifer R. Evans, Heather D. Clements and her husband Steven, Russell A. Evans, Jr., Hannah M. Spates and her husband David, and Garrett C. Harwell; great grandchildren, Briana M. Clements, Justin C. Clements, Hunter W. Cockerham, Nathan P. Clements, Rylee M. Spates and Steven Jace Clements; her aunt, Vergie White; and her beloved dog, Ranger.
