Mr. Earl Lee Geddes

Earl Lee Geddes of North Richland Hills, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Born in Galveston, Texas on December 1, 1934, to Owen Geddes and Mary (Belch) Geddes. Earl graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Poultry Science, commissioning as a First Lieutenant in the US Army. After leaving the service with the rank of Captain, Earl started his career working at chicken hatcheries across central Texas. He then transitioned to a career in sales with Central Soya Company based in Indiana selling livestock feed. He retired from Central Soya in the 1980s and decided to continue a career in sales, becoming a CLU and CFP for Equitable working well into his seventies helping clients with their financial needs. Once he retired, he enjoyed traveling, playing golf & poker, being an amazing grandfather, and spending time with family. He was a member of White’s Chapel Methodist Church of Southlake, Texas.

He met his wife, Gary Lou Barnes on December 1, 1958; they married on March 12, 1960, in Bryan, Texas. Earl and Gary Lou enjoyed 64 years of marriage before she lost her battle with cancer in 2024.

Earl was a member of Battery A Field Artillery of the Corp of Cadets during his time at college, remaining in contact with many of his school mates as lifelong friends, attending many reunions, Aggie football games, and numerous Aggie sporting events. He loved Texas A&M, the majority of his attire being maroon adorned with the A&M logo and would talk to anyone willing to listen about it! He had a gift for striking up conversations with those who would listen, making friends of strangers and bringing a light heartedness to any conversation.

Earl was preceded in death by his wife: Gary Lou (Barnes) Geddes, his parents: Owen Geddes and Mary (Belch) Geddes and his brothers: Harry Hamilton Geddes & George Lewis Geddes.

He is survived by his son, Earl Lee Geddes, Jr. and wife Henrietta, of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Gina Gonzales and husband Harry of Hurst, Texas; grandsons, William Geddes and wife Samantha of Dallas, Texas and Jared Gonzales of Dallas, Texas, and numerous cousins and friends.
