Edna May Gardner of Grapevine, Texas passed away on February 20,2021 in Grapevine, Texas She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and rescuer of abused animals to all that knew and loved her.
She was born on May 7, 1929 in Norwich, England to Harold and Ethel Capes. Edna and her late husband, Wes Gardner lovingly gave their time and home to many abandoned or abused furry friends. Her house was never void of the animals she loved and cared for.
Edna also had a passion for garage and estate sales where she accumulated many gently used items. Although she was nationalized as a US citizen in 1997, she continued to have a bit of England always in her heart.
Edna is survived by son, James Capes and his wife Claire who reside in England, granddaughter, Lorna also of England, Sister, Doris Crawford of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward (Wes) Gardner.
The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm, Friday March 12 at the Mausoleum of Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
