

Eleanor was born to the late Earl and Mary Sawyer in Dawson, Tx, on March 20, 1926. She graduated from Waco High School and remained close friends with those she attended school with from 1st grade on. She also obtained an associates degree from TCU while working at Bell Helicopter. She enjoyed 23 years of employment at Bell Helicopter before retiring in 1989. She as a lifetime member of the sorority, Epsilon Sigma Alpha.
In her younger years, Eleanor worked at the Unemployment Office in Waco, TX where she met her husband, Hugh, when he came in to file for unemployment shortly after the end of WWII. They were married May 4, 1946, and celebrated 73 years of marriage before Hugh's death in February 2020. Through their years together, they enjoyed socializing with neighbors and friends, playing bridge, square dancing, walking, and traveling the world.
Eleanor is survived by a son, Matt Rogers, and daughter, Lynne and her husband, Paul Harris; a sister, Linda Cochrane, and many family and extended family including grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, a brother, and her husband, Hugh Rogers.
Eleanor's final resting place will be at the DFW National Cemetery next to her husband, Hugh Rogers. A celebration of Life for Eleanor will be held at a later date,
