

Eleanor Mercedes Palmer, 85, of Hurst, Texas was reunited with those that preceded her on August 1, 2017. Eleanor was born to parents Leo and Velma Drouhard in Harper, Kansas on March 15, 1932. Eleanor had a beautiful artistic soul. She had a graceful voice and was a high soprano opera singer. Her talents went beyond singing and she was a talented college actress, and included her title role in Alice in Wonderland. She loved new experiences and adventures and flew an acrobatic plane with her beloved husband, Jack. Eleanor dedicated her life to caring for others, often giving little thought to herself. Her kind gestures and caring ways carried into the lives of her friends, family and even strangers. Eleanor’s wisdom and strength had no bounds. The world has never known a better friend, a stronger spirit, or a more beautiful soul. Eleanor is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Capt. Jack Metzker; her beautiful daughter, Debi Lewis; and her second husband, Frank Palmer. She is survived by her loving children, Victoria Ronaghan and Scott Metzker; her beloved grandchildren, Autumn Wilkinson, April Robison, Leighton Metzker, Ryan Lewis and Anthony Lewis, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
