Eleanor Pierce was born in Paris, TX and married the love of her life, Billy Pierce in 1952. They relocated to Long Beach, CA for a few years before returning to Fort Worth. Eleanor spent many years raising her four children and being involved in their numerous activities. She was a Lifetime PTA Member, President of the PTA, Bluebird Leader, Cub Scout Leader, Sunday school teacher, and Vacation Bible School teacher. After her children were older, Eleanor embarked on several careers. She obtained her hair stylist license and was a stylist for several years. After that she was the first employee of Micro Data Service Center when microfilming was the newest format for record storage and she became the manager of this successful business. Eleanor later became a real estate agent and loved helping her clients find their dream homes. After her retirement, Eleanor traveled to Europe and across the USA. She became involved in an apartment ministry in her neighborhood and taught hundreds of children about the love of God and shared with them the Plan of Salvation. Eleanor also began making quilt tops and found a passion that lasted the rest of her life. Her eye for color and design were evident in hundreds of quilts which were shared with family and friends. She also provided quilts to people who were undergoing chemotherapy for warmth and comfort. But Eleanor’s favorite job was Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She always supported her family through the trials of life as well as celebrating their many achievements. “Her children arise and call her blessed...”, Proverbs 31:28.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Billy Pierce; parents Zachary Norris and Auda Mae Taylor; brothers: Kenneth and Ted Taylor.
Eleanor is survived by her children: Debbie Woods (Ray), Gary Pierce (Linda), Pam Jones (Jim), and Scott Pierce (Sylvia); grandchildren: Rachel Castro, Shaun Pierce, Chris Gravelle, Gary Pierce Jr., Brandon Pierce, Taylor Ferguson, Kourtney Dixon, and Nicole Wayson; fifteen great-grandchildren; siblings: June Partin, Ray Taylor, and David Taylor.
