Emil John Abood

Emil was born on March 5, 1936, in Brooklyn, NY, to James and Amelia Abood. He attended and played football at Florida State from 1955 to 1957. After college, Emil served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, and later retired from AT&T after 32 successful years in sales and marketing. He lived in Atlanta, GA for 46 years before moving to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area in 2014. As a devoted follower of Christ, he was passionate about his love for the Lord, his wife, family, his country and his sports teams.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Ann Rodriguez Abood, his three children, Ej Abood (Teresa Patterson), Joy Abood Penland (Thomas Penland), and Gay Abood Boehm (Ralph Boehm), his 12 grandchildren, his brother, Joseph Abood, his sisters Carmae DePalma, Elizabeth Ann Hendricks and Diane Peed; and many friends and extended family.

A Memorial Service will take place at the Gateway Church in North Richland Hills on Thursday, April 7th, 11:00am. (7501 Davis Blvd, North Richland Hills, TX 76182)
