Emma Lou Jones, 97, of North Richland Hills, Texas, went to be with our heavenly Father on June 24, 2026. She passed away in North Richland Hills of natural causes. She was born on November 5, 1928 to William Hardwick Byrom and Emma Lou Dudney Byrom in Byromville, Georgia.
She married Andrew Ace Jones, Sr. on August 24, 1949 in New York, NY. She was the most loving and nurturing wife, Mom and Grandma to her entire family. She is survived by daughters Carol Ann Dieterich of North Richland Hills, and Bonnie Lou Mauldin of Hurst, and sons Andrew Ace Jones, Jr. of North Richland Hills and William Albert Jones of Fort Worth, 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Ace Jones, Sr.
Emma was born in Byromville, Georgia and moved to New York City at the age of 5. She grew up in New York City and had various jobs in her young adulthood which included working at Macy's and taking orders on the NYSE. She met Andy while ice skating in Central Park when he was on shore leave from the Navy. They quickly married and traveled to St. Louis, Missouri where they started their family. They traveled extensively across the U.S. for a number of years with Andy's job in the aircraft industry, before they eventually moved to Fort Worth and settled in North Richland Hills with their 4 children. Throughout Emma's adult life, she was the ultimate care-giver and nurturer. She was always very involved in her children’s lives. She often would prepare hot lunches for her children and their friends in high school, assist her sons in preparing for their paper route, and assist Andy in running their business at the gas station. Once she had grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was very involved in helping raise and care for them. She enjoyed hosting family get-togethers and holiday celebrations and was an excellent cook and baker, skills she has passed to multiple generations. She is the Matriarch of our family and has influenced each generation with her loving guidance, wisdom, encouragement, and moral compass. She has left quite the legacy and will be dearly missed.
A Visitation will be held at 9am with the Funeral Service to follow at 10am on Tuesday, July 7, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034.
