

He was the son of Ernest and Estell Cheek. Ernest Cheek, Sr. was born on April 17, 1932
Ernest was raised with one brother John.
Ernest worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Ernest was blessed with one son, Ernest and five daughters, Sherry, Sandy, Vickie, Kathy, and Shirley. Another blessing for Ernest was the gift of numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ernest passed away peacefully on October 10, 2016 in Bedford, Texas from heart failure. He is survived by his children, Sandy Davis, Vickie Grant and her husband, Vernon, Kathy Cheek, and Shirley Fletcher and her husband, Larry; son in law, Pleasant H. Brooks, Sr. and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and numerous friends. Services were held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Colleyville, Texas. Ernest was laid to rest in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
Simply stated, Ernest was an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Ernest leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Ernest D. Cheek Sr.
