Eugene Andre Dufrane Jr.

Memorial service: 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Colleyville. Eulogy and reception to follow in the church hall.

Gene was born September 22, 1939 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, to the late Eugene DuFrane Sr. and Monica Tautges DuFrane. He met his first wife, Lucy Kathryn Leifer, during college and they were wed on October 13, 1962; they were happily married until her death in 2004.

After college Gene served his country by joining the Army reserves. He later worked in the family business, DuFrane Moving, Inc., while simultaneously beginning his career in real estate. This career moved him and his family to Texas in 1983 where he was an active member of the real estate community. Through his real estate partner he met his second wife, Gail Muller DuFrane. He and Gail were happily married from February 14, 2007 until his death.

Gene loved to joke and make people laugh. He lived life fully. He sang with his church choir and jazz ensemble, regularly played tennis with his son and granddaughters, was an accomplished painter, traveled extensively and spent time with his family as much as possible.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents; first wife Lucy; sister Joan DuFrane Dreifuerst and brother Noel DuFrane.

Gene is survived by his wife Gail DuFrane; children: Suzy and husband Garland, Christopher and wife Karen, Noelle and husband Corey; grandchildren: Michelle, Rachel, Emily, Jake, Lauren; stepchildren: Harold and Melanie; step-grandchildren: Christopher, Kyle, Caroline, Tommy, Connor, and Allison.
