Eugene Mitford

Samuel Eugene Mitford of Grapevine, Texas went to be with the Lord November 1,2018 at the age of 86, 1931 - 2017. Eugene or “Gene” as his friends called him, lived a blessed life and will be remembered for his outgoing, friendly personality, as he made friends wherever he went. He always had a positive outlook even in sickness, he lived his life with the glass half full always. Gene was born in British Guyana, South America in April 1931. He was married to Babee Winnifred “Winnie” Alli in 1958. They moved to London England so that Gene could continue his education and remained there for 12 years. They then moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada where Gene went into business for himself. They finally moved to South Texas in the Rio Grande Valley where the weather was more tropical like where they grew up in British Guyana. Gene was active in his Church for many years. He and Winnie were charter members of St. Peter and St. Paul in Mission, TX where he was the head usher. He was a wonderful servant of God and would always invite people to worship at their Church wherever he went. Gene and Winnie were married for 59 years when he passed away. He is survived by his loving wife Winnie Mitford, son Paul of The Woodlands, TX , his wife Nelly, and grandchildren Joshua and Gabriella; and his son Mark of Grapevine, TX his wife Melinda; sister, Merlyn Shivcharin; grandchildren, Morgan and Madison. Gene will be remembered at a memorial service on November 22nd at 3:00 pm at Living Word Lutheran Church in Grapevine, TX.

Biography

Samuel Eugene Mitford of Grapevine, Texas went to be with the Lord November 1,2018 at the age of 86, 1931 - 2017. Eugene or “Gene” as his friends called him, lived a blessed life and will be remembered for his outgoing, friendly personality, as he made friends wherever he went.
