Evelyn Shelton Shelton Banner

Funeral Services are scheduled to commence at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville. Mrs. Banner will be laid to rest next to her husband, Mr. Charles R. Banner Sr., in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park immediately following the service.

Friends are invited to gather from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday to share memories in the Cherry Drawing Room of Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.

Evelyn was born April 15, 1920, to Bedford and Fannie Johnston Shelton in San Antonio. Evelyn grew up in Kingsville. She married Charles R. Banner Sr. in 1943, and moved to Corpus Christi where they lived until they retired to Tyler. Together they had one son, Charles R. Banner Jr.

Evelyn was active at Southside Christian Church of Tyler and was very active at Keller Oaks Heath Care Center until her passing. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charles R. Banner Sr.; her parents, Bedford and Fannie Shelton; brothers, James and Donald Shelton; and sister, Louise Stivors.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Charles Banner Jr. and wife, Linda; three grandchildren, Sherrie Lynch and husband Joel, Brian Banner and wife, Melissa, and Kim Lawton and husband, Mike; nine great-grandchildren, Katie and Kristine Lynch, David and Christopher Silvey, Jacquelyn Gabe and Luke Banner and Avery and Michael Lawton; nieces and nephews, Jim and Rita Stivors, Ann Berrio, Ben and Donna Killingsworth and Jody and Theresa Shelton.
