She was born in Centerville, Iowa on January 30th, 1928 to Florene and Herbert Peterson. Evelyn graduated from Des Moines East High School in 1946.
She married Ralph Eugene Brown on June 29th, 1947. They were married for 76 wonderful years.
Evelyn began her career as a librarian, and then became a secretary. She worked for a number of different companies, The French Market, Fire Control Engineering and Capellon Pharmaceuticals.
She had a passion for reading, enjoyed crossword puzzles, collecting dolls, owls, books, was an expert at crocheting, and loved dogs.
Evelyn is survived by her four children; David Eugene Brown, Judith Kathryn (Brown) Martin, Stevan Ward Brown, Dorothy Debra (Brown) Downing, 9 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
